Jackson

We ended our little trip to the mountains with a couple of days in Jackson.  We are creatures of habit, so we paid a visit to our favorite stop, Jenny Lake, and took a short boat ride to the hiking trail.

Cole was a champion hiker this year (hooray!), Annie whined more than an acceptable amount, and Ben was carried on the way up and then hiked the entire way down.

It was nice and cool up at Hidden Falls.  I wanted to stay there all afternoon.  But eventually, we left to head on to more adventures.

We rode the Alpine Slides a couple of times and then headed to the Bar-T-Five Ranch for dinner.  They take you on a wagon ride and then feed you cowboy food up in the mountains.  When we pulled in and Ben saw what was going on, he just smiled and said, "cowboys," and ran for the horses.

There was a nice mountain shower that cooled us off while we ate.  It was great.  The kids all took a short turn driving the wagon on the ride home.  Looks like Annie enjoyed the hot chocolate she ate with her dinner.

On the drive back to camp, Floyd spotted a few moose and hiked through the sage brush to take a few pictures.  I don't get too excited about wildlife pictures, but I loved this little stop because Ben quickly snatched the other camera and ran through the sage to follow him and take a few pictures of his own.
He is a serious daddy's boy.

And then we headed back to our campfire in the shadow of the Tetons.  Heaven, in other words.
