Longtime readers of this little blog (Hi Karlee!) might remember that one of my very first posts was about some little pond critters Cole dragged home. Remember this? Well...things haven't changed much around here. Look what came home from his last fishing trip with Daddy to Willard Bay:
Real live pollywogs. And we've kept them alive for an entire week despite Ben's best efforts at sabotage by dumping Moon Sand and a box of Mike and Ike's and various other items he finds. He's super duper helpful. In Yellowstone, Cole chose a souvenir that had plastic frogs in all their different stages. He'd be able to tell you exactly what stage this is. I can only tell you that they have their back legs but no front legs and they still have their tails. And I'm totally fine with not knowing the exact stage this is.
We also found a pretty little butterfly hanging around one evening, so Cole gently observed it for a bit. It was awfully pretty.
This kid is such a bug guy. We have a bug zoo in the backyard right now if any of you are interested in a little summertime fun. Admission is 25 cents and you get to see a couple of bees (brave kid caught them by himself), some mosquito larvae, a dragonfly, a couple butterflies...some alive and some not so much. We'd love to have you join us!
