Class of 2010

We have a graduate! A preschool graduate, that is. Cole graduated yesterday and was given the title of "Most Likely to Host a Show on Animal Planet" by his teacher. It was a great day.

Cole got in on a little "ABC Rock," even though he doesn't much care for the silly kid's songs (as he puts it).

Next, he enthralled us by reading an end of the year poem. Cole, who has an uncanny ability to memorize, was reminded many times to read the poem and not just recite it from memorization. He rattled off the first couple of lines before remembering and then glanced down at his paper and read the rest.

The graduates in their march -they marched to "Let Them be Little" instead of the more traditional "Pomp and Circumstance."

Cole with his teacher, Ms. Jackie. We lucked out finding her. She deals really well with his ...um...intensity and has put in extra time teaching him how to read. We are considering the logistics of hiring her as his personal teacher for the next thirteen years.
The happy graduate with some of his buddies...
... and with his family. As we lined up for this picture, he said to me, "I'll remember this day for the rest of my life." Made me smile.
Somebody apparently mentioned to Ben that graduations are boring. He slept through most of it.
We continued the night's festivities with a graduation dinner at Maddox. McDonald's was a close second since they give out toys, but we reminded him that Maddox gives you a Frisbee and were able to convince him.
Congratulations, Coley! We are so proud of you and all you have learned. Kindergarten is going to be such a fun adventure for you.
