Field Trip Friday

I have been feeling a little blue about having two kids in school and not getting much time to be with them, so I instituted a "Field Trip Friday" policy at our house. As you likely guessed from the name, we are taking field trips together each Friday after Cole is finished with school. I let the kids pick the destination for our inaugural trip this past Friday. And just where did they choose to go?

A field.

Yep. They chose a field. They are quite literal I suppose. Actually, one of their favorite places in the world is Grandpa's ranch (right behind Hawaii and Yellowstone), so to them, it was very exciting to be going to a field. Seriously, they couldn't wait. Unfortunately, I don't know any farmers near me and we were a little short on time, so we just walked along a trail that borders a bunch of fields. They were disappointed not to go in the field until they found grasshoppers and sunflowers and horses and a canal and all kinds of good stuff.

They had a fabulous time. Our first Field Trip Friday was a success. I wonder where we will be headed next week!
