First Harvest

I have loved being able to eat food from my own garden again this week. Cole runs out first thing every morning to get fresh strawberries for our breakfast. Yum! They are so much better than the ginormous-but-no-taste grocery store variety. It's almost like I forget what strawberries should taste like when mine aren't ripe. They spoil fast, so I made some into jam tonight. Maybe I'll make a strawberry dessert for Father's Day...

This week has made me excited for August when the garden is so full of food I can't keep up with picking it all. It has a ways to go, but between now and then we have a few more crops to enjoy. Next up: peas and lettuce. Grow, grow, grow!
