Best Week Ever...

...that's what Cole decided last Sunday when we discussed with him what we would be doing during the week. I hope it lived up to his expectations. We started the week with a little summer solstice party for Family Night. Most summer solstice celebrations get a little crazy. It is a pagan holiday, after all. Ours was pretty tame - we learned how to say "the sun" in seven different languages (I botched the German pronunciation, but luckily Dad saved us on that one), ate sun cookies, had dinner on our yellow patio furniture, and Cole and Annie each got an adult-sized bright yellow t-shirt Cache Stake Young Women's t-shirt. Annie loves her new yellow "pajammie nightgown."

On Tuesday, we met up with the Myers and Aunt Kar and headed to the Motor-Vue to watch Toy Story 3 at the drive-in. It was a late night, but all of the kids were troopers and loved the show.

The next morning the party continued with a little bit of water fun. Somehow we even managed to get seven children and two moms ready for a family party that afternoon. The party was to welcome the three little boys one of my cousins recently adopted. I made the mistake of telling Cole about the special occasion and he is now campaigning for a couple new brothers for our family.

Wednesday night, we headed up the canyon to spend a couple of days with Floyd's family at Wolf Creek. The majority of our time was spent in the pool, but we also made it to the petting zoo and Floyd and I went to breakfast at the German restaurant - very authentic, according to Floyd...yummy, according to me.
Cole makes a good cowboy - tall and skinny.

Annie liked all the animals, but I think she liked getting little drinks at the drink machine most of all.

Saturday night, we started the summer celebrating early with fireworks for Pleasant View's Founder's Day celebration. Despite the busy week, Cole and Annie found enough energy to each fun over a mile racing to the nearby hill and back. Floyd and I each ran the course one time. They each ran it over ten. They loved the fireworks, of course. Who doesn't?

All in all, it was a fun week. Super busy. I am worn out. And not sure I'm ready for this week when the fun continues - I leave for Lagoon in approximately one hour.

That does sound like the best week ever! I just love summer time when you are running from one activity to the next. I haven't been to Lagoon in probably 10 years- hope you had fun!
