Four Years

I sat down to write the nine-month-Molly update and realized I'm a teensy bit behind cause I hadn't downloaded Ben's birthday pictures yet.  It was a month ago. 

He had a great birthday.  He invited his best friend to go to McDonald's with him for breakfast and they were the only kids at the playland for over an hour.  Good times. 

He got spoiled with all kinds of four-year-old fun stuff, including a new bike and lots of work machines. 

And he requested his cake be green with blue writing that said "Happy Birthday Ben" which might be the simplest birthday cake I've ever made a kid, but he was thrilled. 

And one little party guest was able to sneak a few bites of cake and ice cream.  She was also thrilled.

Here are Ben's answers to a few quick interview questions (very few - he's a busy guy with no time for questions).

What is your favorite color?   Blue

What is your favorite game to play?  Football

What is your favorite food?  Meatballs

What do you want to be when you grow up?  Worker

Who is your best friend?  Jayce

If you could go on a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?   California

What is your favorite show?  Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Friday night's movie night selection)

 

A few things I want to remember about Ben at this age?

-How he loves friends and wants to have a friend over all the time.  

-The way he quietly repeats new words and phrases to himself when he learns them and then hearing him try to use them in conversation.

-How he wants to get right to work every day.

-What a caring big brother he is to his little sister.

-How he tries to do everything his Daddy and big brother do.  He's definitely one of the guys.

-His unfailing optimism.

-That he still gives the world's best hugs.

Happy 4th, little buddy.  Hope it's awesome.
