A mystery...

Oh little Cole. Life with him is a lesson in contrasts. He knows how to write his name. He knows all the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make. He can do simple math problems. He can count to 100 (with just a little prompting about order). He passed off three articles of faith last week. He can quote entire books to me. Yesterday, he asked what "free" meant and seemed to understand the explanation of both free of cost and freedom.

And yet, somehow, the concept of "whisper" is completely beyond him. Puzzling.
