fishing trip

On Saturday, we went with some of Floyd's family on a little fishing trip. I usually use fishing trips as an opportunity to work on my dissertation without interruptions, but decided to go along this time. We had a great time. It was Annie's first time on a boat and she did great, although she wasn't too fond of her life jacket. Cole was the best fisherman on the boat - he's getting quite good at reeling them in.

About to land a big one...

Someday, maybe he'll give us a real smile. For the past year, this is the one we've been enjoying.

Yes, that is a worm Annie is grabbing. She was fascinated by them.

I am cracking up at Cole's smile. Before I scrolled all of the way down, I wondered if there would be one of his cheese grins. I will definitely miss that smile when he grows out of it.

We wish we could have made this trip. Nathan would have loved every minute of it, especially being with Cole. Looks like fun!

Brooklyn so has that same smile when we tell her to smile. But when she smiles normally it is so cute. it looks like you had a fun time.

Cole's smile cracked me up!! And then I read down at his cute little cricket story...so sweet-I was rooting for the cricket.
Though not nearly as touching, it did remind me of a time someone I know sat on a praying mantus(I doubt I spelled that right..), and after a little inspirational music, it came back to life!!Remember?! Good Times!
