So one year, my best friends Brooke and Kim and I decided to have a Christmas Gala. I don't remember the details of how we came upon this decision, but I do remember that it was several weeks (months?) in the planning. We rented the Newton church house, sent fancy invitations, made dance cards, planned and cooked a fairly elaborate (for college kids) feast, decorated the church, and had Kim's step-dad's sound system for the dancing.

I'll bet you wish you had been there, huh?
The tricky part was making sure we had equal numbers of boys and girls because dancing was a big part of the night's plans. Plus throw into the mix that there were certain people who couldn't be invited because they used to date someone else we wanted to invite and we didn't want any awkwardness. We had to be pretty selective about who we invited.

It turned out to be a pretty fun night. The sad part? I can't even remember the names of several people in these pictures. College was a loooong time ago. Sigh.

I run across pictures every so often of this night. It was SOO fun to get all fancy and have a fun night! You guys did a great job planning it!
Oh my heavens...I totally remember you guys doing this!!! (Sadly, I was still in high school and wasn't invited, but Emily did borrow my dress from the Christmas dance, so it's all good.) The pictures of the old Newton Church were a treat and filled my heart with joy! :)
HAHAHAHAHH!! I thoroughly enjoyed these pictures, even though I can only remember the names of about 5 of the attendees. Classic!
i totally did a scrapbook page of this fabulous event (I think I did two). It was so much fun. I loved getting all fancy, it was a girls dream :)
I remember most of them in the picture, but one or two.
