We headed up to Idaho for our annual tree hunt on Friday. There was lots of snow this year, meaning that the search for the perfect tree was abbreviated to the search for a tree. It has a few bare spots, but that's okay since we will also be heading to the local nursery for a more perfect looking tree sometime this week. It was a beautiful day. Cole was absolutely smitten by big piles of snow falling off the branches. Can't say I blame him. It's gorgeous.

Cole said this was the only tree in the whole forest he wanted, so it made the trip home with us.

Annie wanted a taller tree. Taller as in one of the 100 footers. Sorry, Sis, but our ceilings aren't quite that high.

Ben tried out a little sip of hot chocolate. Liked it. Shocking.

We love this tradition. Being in the forest right when winter is beginning is so awe-inspiring and is a perfect way to start off the Christmas season.
