Goodbye Summer!

I can't believe summer is almost gone! It always goes so fast. The past couple of years, my family has gone to Bear Lake once harvest is over and spent the day on wave runners. It seems to mark the end of summer and beginning of fall for me. That's how we spent Saturday.

We started the day off earlier (some of us much earlier than the rest) by either participating in or cheering at the TOU half marathon. It was fun to run with my sisters. Here we are post-race and really sweaty.

And here's Cole starting the day at Bear Lake off with a nice sandy slip-n-slide.

Annie was a little sleepy (we spent the night at my parents and sleepovers are not one of her special talents). Luckily, Daddy is a good pillow.

Cole getting ready for his turn. He's quite brave and loves the water, so he had a blast.

Sand angels...brilliant.

I think maybe he missed a spot...nope, he got it everywhere.

Some intense and totally serious sand digging.

After Bear Lake, we stopped at LaBeau's and then Tony Grove on the way back through the canyon. I hadn't been there yet this summer and it's worth going there at least once every year.

We had to strap Annie into the stroller because she just wouldn't stop eating the sand.

It was a nice way to end the summer...now I just can't wait for fall.

Looks like fun! I think if Nathan were there he would be right there with Cole swimming in the dirt.
It seems like forever since we have been to either of those places.
Good job running the half marathon. Maybe someday I will actually be in shape enough to do one of those.

Haha those pics of Cole crap me up. He is such a fun kid. Wish I would have stayed for Tony Grove, looks like the kids had fun in the water...again.

MAN! I didn't know you lived down there, next time we will meet up, so we can have buddies!
And I know what you mean about the men not caring about the things that are important in life (byu of course)
Nate doesn't really care either, he is going hunting while Kace and I go to the game. oh, well.

Looks like you guys had a great end of summer! I don't know why boys like to be SO dirty. They see the dirt and RUN!

Way to go on your marathon!! I really do admire you for that as I still can't stand running more than 3 miles at a time. I also checked out your Colorado trip. So many fun summer things--I'm glad your kids love water. Kjeaton is not a fan...maybe next summer.
