Well, it's probably too early to call it a hobby, but I did have fun making Annie's new dress. Remember 8th grade sewing class? Not me. Somehow I ended up in Mr. Housley's shop class making an electric motor and wooden stool. It was lots of fun, but hasn't really helped me in life since Floyd has a very strict rule about me using power tools. Learning to sew would have been much more useful. So I finally have my own sewing machine. Annie's dress was the first thing I made with it, and it is actually wearable. I did have to do a little unpicking - I sewed the facing on the wrong side. I really don't get patterns.
Next up - a bag for me. I found the cutest fabric and can't wait to use it. I think I'll make my own pattern for it though.

Such a cute dress and she looks wonderful in blue. I am impressed. I took sewing and I still have never attempted clothing. The patterns confuse me too much.
you did great! I would like to learn, I some how ended up making the stool as well, but your right the patterns make it look so hard.
Good for you! I got a sewing machine for grauation (4 years ago) and it is still in the box. I really would like to use it though. Cute dress. Keep us posted on the bag!
Good Job Katie! Her dress is cute. I have had a sewing machine for 4 years now, and Gary has used it WAY more than I have. I could use a few more lessons on sewing.
Cute Katie. I am impressed also.
Somehow I got stuck making a stool in that shop class too:).
I'm so impressed! She looks so cute and springy. I was reading another comment and it sounded familiar..Brian has used our sewing machine more than me, too! He sews fishing pole bags...Anyhow, maybe one day we can whip up some curtains together..that's been my plan, but has just never happened!
I'm impressed! As a former 8th grade sewing teacher, I give you an A+. Good luck on the bag---there are such cute fabrics out there these days....I'm working on a baby sling...hopefully it will work.
